Event Date: Monday 1st to Thursday 4th April
Parklands Albury Wodonga is very pleased to promote a unique event taking place in Beechworth April 1-4: the Festival of Change.
This event is being staged by a group of locally based not-for-profit organisations. It will focus on building skills and networks for creating positive social and environmental change in rural communities.
The Festival of Change will feature 20 capacity building ‘how-shops’ covering topics such as getting community and individuals organised, excited and skilled at creating positive change. There will be detailed sessions on group dynamics and governance, getting community organised, messaging and social media, social enterprise, resourcing change, decision making, the politics of change, managing uncertain futures, marketing, using data and evaluating change.
There will also be talks from local and international experts, a cross pollination program to build networks, fun events like a mock trial in the historic Beechworth Courthouse, a light projection event and screening of Backtrack Boys a powerful documentary of how empathy, persistence and thinking differently can create change in young people facing challenging circumstance.
Many events are free and others are very low cost to maximise participation and accessibility for individuals and organisations. We have lots of people rolling in from across south eastern Australia so this is a great chance to connect with others with similar interests.
