Cudgewa Mural Trail Storytelling Gathering

Cudgewa Mural Trail Storytelling Gathering

Event Date: Monday 15th August

5pm to 6.30pm

A new Mural Trail project aims to showcase the works of our local creative community along 2.3km of the High Country Rail Trail, from Cudgewa township to Wabba Creek.

Funded by the Towong Community Bushfire Disaster Relief Fund Grant Program, the project brings opportunities for local talent to shine, with up to ten murals to be printed onto steel signage and installed along the trail.

Parklands worked with the Man from Snowy River Tourist Association to develop the proposal, recognising that local people in the creative arts industry have been severely impacted by the bushfires and the pandemic.

Key to the project is community co-design, with the first steps involving the formation of a Mural Trail Working Group and the employment of a local Facilitator to generate community conversations on the design of the new trail.

Following the initial brainstorming session on 20th June, this gathering will review Expressions of Interest and discuss further ideas.

Upper Murray artists and interested community members are invited to join the project team for this next step.

Please join us around the table at Cudgewa Hotel to share ideas and finger food.

Please RSVP for catering purposes to Tracey Fair 0432834522 or fairtracey78@gmail.com

In case you missed it and are keen to contribute artwork and/or stories to the project, please find the EOI form below.
