PAW wishes to remind locals and visitors to stay away from floodwaters during times of high rainfall.
Please stay away from the Kiewa River and Middle Creek (the High Country Rail Trail) during this period of heavy rainfall.
Community volunteers such as the State Emergency Service and Police are busy supporting our regional community. Please let’s not create any issues by respecting the following flood safety advice:
Kiewa River at Bandiana: The Kiewa River at Bandiana is currently at 2.93 metres and steady. The Kiewa River at Bandiana is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.80 m) during Tuesday and into Wednesday.
Kiewa River to Mongans Bridge: Minor flooding is possible along the Kiewa River to Mongans Bridge from Tuesday evening. The Kiewa River at Mongans Bridge is currently at 1.77 metres (minor flood level 2.4 m) and rising.
Kiewa River downstream of Mongans Bridge: Minor flooding is occurring along the Kiewa River downstream of Mongans Bridge.
The Kiewa River at Kiewa (Main Stream) fell below the minor flood level during Monday afternoon and is currently at 3.17 metres and falling. The Kiewa River at Kiewa (Main Stream) is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.30 m) during Tuesday and into Wednesday. Renewed river rises are possible from Wednesday morning.
