"We See the Big in You"
For the past decade, Hume Bank (previously Hume Building Society) staff have rolled up their sleeves on the second Sunday of September to plant trees and shrubs at around Gateway Island bush park to offset their annual vehicle carbon emissions.

As a local, community focused business, we at Hume believe that we have a responsibility to not only be environmentally sustainable, but to also show the community how to become more sustainable. By educating, promoting and actively becoming greener ourselves, we can help the community to ensure we help build a greener environment for our children.
Hume Bank was the foundation member of Parklands Albury Wodonga’s voluntary Growing Green Offset program.

Hume Building Society staff have been bringing their friends and family to the annual Parklands Albury Wodonga Growing Green planting days for ten years. We are starting to see some of these young children as young adults heading off for tertiary studies, with a strong sense of belonging, connection to country and to community because of this hands-on involvement for so many years.
In 2013, Hume has awarded the Murray-Riverina Business’s Employer of Choice. The Employer of Choice award recognises organisations that put in place strategies and initiatives to create stimulating and supportive workplace environments for their employees. These strategies or initiatives must have a positive impact on both employees and the organisation as a whole.
The Hume Building Society sponsored water / chemical trailer spends considerable time on the roads driving to and from bush parks on a daily basis, providing visible recognition of this valuable partnership.
Hume Building Society has also benefited through sponsorship of various regional parklands map brochures.
