Parklands has partnered with the Thurgoona community since the very early days of Woolshed Landcare Group and Thurgoona Urban Landcare Group, jointly implementing a wide variety of projects to restore, protect and improve habitat for native species and engage the growing community with nature.
Activities have ranged from planning and construction of 14 km of Natural Heritage Trust fencing, revegetation, fabricating and installing more than 500 nest boxes, establishing a native seed orchard, invasive weed removal, threatened species recovery projects and joint projects as part of the Slopes to Summit Great Eastern Ranges partnership, such as the S2S Business Planting Days.
The Woolshed Thurgoona Landcare Group continues to encourage community partnerships to address local agricultural and urban sustainability/ environmental issues.
