Wodonga TAFE became involved with Parklands in 1998 through the construction of the Swainsona Reserve picnic area. In subsequent years Parklands partnered with both the Horticulture Department and National Industrial Skills Training Centre to deliver a variety of projects, including:
- Establishing the Wandoo Aboriginal Corporation bush tucker plant nursery (2000-2007). Horticulture courses were offered onsite at the nursery.
- Providing experiential learning opportunities for TAFE students training in environmental restoration and park maintenance, for example developing walking trails and construction and installation of park infrastructure (fences, gates) and park furniture.
- Joint staff working bees implementing on ground works on the High Country Rail Trail.
