Towong Shire Council has provided cash and in-kind support in the development, maintenance and promotion of the Tallangatta section of the High Country Rail Trail.

Towong Shire Council managed the 600 metre long Sandy Creek Bridge infrastructure project on behalf of a partnership with Indigo Shire Council, City of Wodonga, Tallangatta Rail Trail Advisory Group, Bonegilla Rail Trail Advisory Group and Parklands.
