Today Parklands staff were overjoyed to welcome a refurbished photocopier into the heart of our old cottage office on Gateway Island. The copier, donated by Smiths Office Solutions of Albury, will reinvigorate admin systems in the office, which have been sadly under-resourced since the death of our ancient copier last year.
This exciting gift came to us through a recommendation by our friends at Woomera Aboriginal Corporation, who were approached by Smiths to name a worthy local organisation in need of office equipment.
The search for worthy local organisations is something Smiths Office Solutions do annually as an outreach service supporting the Albury Wodonga community. As part of their annual program to give back to the community, Smiths reach out through their clients and community contacts to find organisations doing good work in the community who could put a refurbished machine to good use, donating several photocopiers each year to different organisations.
Parklands were offered this opportunity in recognition of our community based social inclusion and environmental programs, which support community members from diverse backgrounds to connect with others, get out into nature, get involved in improving local landscapes and connect with country.
Our new machine arrived accompanied by Smiths Office Solutions technicians Andrew and Ryan who not only installed it for us but gave us their time to explain how to use it properly. To put it simply, we are thrilled with our new copier!
Our thanks to Woomera Aboriginal Corporation staff for their recognition in putting Parklands Albury Wodonga forward to be considered for this donation. Most of all we want to express our sincere thanks to Stephanie and Smiths Office Solutions for this generous community service – our new copier will certainly get our office humming again!
