Parklands Rangers were joined by fifteen enthusiastic paddlers for the annual Murray River Clean-up Paddle last weekend.
Community members and an intrepid bunch from 3rd Wodonga Scout group paddled from the Waterworks to Noreuil Park, plucking rubbish from the water and banks along the way.
The rubbish – mostly plastic, was piled into one canoe. This trip netted even more rubbish than last year, thanks to the dedication of this clean-up team. Removing this plastic makes a real difference to all of the creatures that depend on the river. That’s one less load going out to sea!
Many thanks to Dave ‘the Canoe Guy’ from Murray River Canoe Hire, for invaluable support with canoe transport.
Well done everyone!
