The High Country Rail Trail Horse Riding Club held their first annual horse ride at Shelley Forest Camp on the 8th and 9th December.
Supported by the Tallangatta and Bonegilla Rail Trail Action Groups, Parklands Albury Wodonga and the Australian Trail Horse Riders Association (ATHRA), horses and riders travelled from Bendigo, Corowa, Bright, Myrtleford, Beechworth, Holbrook, Bethanga and Culcairn area to participate in this exciting new event.
Riders arrived at Shelley Forest Camp on Friday 7th for a weekend of riding the local trails, enjoying the company, the terrain and the spectacular high country views. Trail rides were interspersed with catered picnics and a great campfire evening, complete with bush music and singalong, on the Saturday night.
The High Country Rail Trail Horse Riding Club were very pleased with this inaugural trail riding camp, sending a special vote of thanks to the High Country Rail Trail Committee members for cooking and catering for the event.
