Parklands are delighted to partner with the Wodonga Urban Landcare Network and Murray Landcare to host the Great Southern Bioblitz – GSB23– in Albury Wodonga this November.

Our GSB23 project will gather all of the local observations added to iNaturalist on the weekend of November 24th to 27th. These observations are from you, the citizens of Albury Wodonga! See more about it here.

We have been preparing with events like our Slow Walks and Spotlighting Night walks, when people have learned about looking for the details in nature; where to look, how to observe, how to make records and how to add them to the various citizen science platforms, like iNaturalist and FrogID.

On GSB weekend, we’re urging everyone to get your phones out, take photos of nature in your local area and add them to iNaturalist.

If you’d like to know more and practice before the big weekend, there are more free nature learning opportunities coming up with Wodonga Landcare and  partners.

In the Discover and Document Nature sessions in Wodonga on Wednesday November 8th, you will be able to explore mobile apps and online tools make and share nature observations, for example with iNaturalist, FrogID and Atlas of Living Australia. Book in here.

Or join a Riverside Ramble at the Kiewa River, Killara on Sunday 12 November for one of three walks for noticing and recording birds, insects and frogs. Presenters Ben Humphries from BirdLife Australia, Dr Alexandra Knight, Charles Sturt University and Wodonga Landcare’s Karen Retra will each lead a walk at a different time on that day – choose the one that appeals to you!
