Last Sunday families from the Wodonga Lutheran Parish turned out to plant 500 native seedlings in Belvoir Park, celebrating 500 years of Reformation.

Supported by Council and Parklands staff, more than 40 people set to work planting groundovers, shrubs and trees to enhance the linking corridors in the park. 

The native gardens in Belvoir Park link the significant River Red gums in the park with the House Creek native habitat corridor. Some of the old Eucalypts in the park are many hundreds of years old, so it is apt that the planting event celebrates an equally long span of growth and change. 

This planting also marks the beginning of Landcare planting season around Wodonga. Anyone wishing to get involved with planting in our beautiful bush parks is welcome to get in touch with us at info@parklands-alburywodonga.org.au
