As Green Army team leader Kim Radnell backed the work trailer into it’s parking spot at the Parklands depot, a small green ‘something’ in the mirror made her pause.
Investigating, Kim found a solitary bird sitting mournfully in the carpark. The bedraggled male Eclectus parrot seemed very pleased to see her, and happily accompanied her into the building.
When he spotted ranger David Saxton, he went straight to his shoulder and sat there as if well accustomed to the perch.
Kim investigated locals searching for a lost bird and was soon on her way to return the parrot. No doubt his owner will be as much cheered by the bird’s return as we were to have him briefly brighten our day.
