An environmental burn to reduce annual weeds and buildup of debris and encourage natural regeneration will be held along the High Country Rail Trail this weekend.

This is a big operation, involving 65 volunteers from the Bonegilla and Kiewa CFA Units with assistance from other Wodonga CFA Units. They will be burning along the High Country Rail Trail between Huon Reserve and Ebden Reserve on both Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May.

We recommend that rail trail users avoid this section of the rail trail over the weekend.

A big thank you to the many CFA volunteers for their time and support over the past two decades undertaking these works. It is work like this that makes our Rail Trail a jewel in the crown of the trail network.
