Apex Tool Group (formerly Cooper Tools) has a long history of innovation in energy saving and waste reduction.
Cooper Tools Albury Wodonga plant won the silver award in the Cooper Industries Worldwide 2002 Environmental Excellence Awards, from 52 other projects nominated from the company’s 130 facilities worldwide. The plant received the award for re-engineering its manufacturing of Lufkin measuring tapes to substantially improve its impact on the environment. In turn the facility donated the award prize to fund ongoing works at Padman-Mates Park, including an interpretive signage shelter.
The company’s commitment to the environment has continued with sponsorship of a number of Parkland’s projects, including projects at the popular Waterworks Reserve and Padman-Mates Park, and the donation of tools for Parklands projects.
