Help Parklands Albury Wodonga and our project partners to implement our plans to establish a network of world class cycle trails.
The goal is to create International Mountain Bike Association accredited trails, including 50km mountain bike trails, 30km river trails and 20km of upgraded rail trail. This will mean large scale mountain bike facilities that offer something for every rider, built to international quality standards.
The potential benefits to the health of our community are matched by the potential economic benefits as cyclists converge on the world class facilities envisioned. A similar trail creation project in Tasmania recently featured on ABC news, with the increase in mountain bike tourism expected to add $15million to that region’s economy and generate many jobs. As a social enterprise, Parklands will also add community capital by working with friends groups and disadvantaged people in our community to build the trail network.
Parklands is calling for investment in the “Building a World Class Cycling Network in Albury Wodonga” project by community members and businesses, through the Parklands office or online via the Crowdfunding campaign. A total of $50,000 is the goal, to be achieved with the generous support of the local community.
The Crowdfunding campaign is through an Australian social enterprise called Chuffed.org
