Community feedback is invited on final plans for the mountain bike trail network at McFarlanes Hill Regional Park.
Parklands Albury Wodonga has been working with government and community partners over the past five years to review the existing mountain bike trail network at McFarlanes Hill Regional Park.
This review has been guided by feedback from community as well as technical reports from Consultants engaged to undertake environmental, cultural heritage and engineering studies and provide recommendations for restoration of the natural environment and trails to IMBA standards.

Overview of Trail Network
Three loop MTB trails retained
9km trails closed
Fence realignment
It is planned to relocate the existing boundary fence further away from Felltimber Creek Road and replace the barb-wire with plain wire.
This is part of a larger program whereby old fences within McFarlanes Hill Regional Park are progressively being replaced with new fences with a mix of wildlife friendly plain wire and ringlock. Barb-wire is being removed progressively, except where it is needed to manage fuel loads by way of grazing.
Chicane needed?
There is a less steep, less landslide-prone entrance to the Granite (Ridge) walking trail further along Felltimber Creek Road just west of McGaffins Road. Currently there is just an opening in the fence. Is this sufficient of should a chicane gate be installed to prevent motor bike access?
