The Multicultural Community Farm has been a hive of activity so far this year with several new plots being taken up by various community members. The team have been working hard to increase accessibility and to get new plots ready for sowing. General maintenance such as slashing and weed-clearing has been a constant task but a very rewarding one as more and more fresh, organic produce is grown and harvested. For example, this year already long beans, green beans, pumpkins, radish, and bitter gourd have been harvested with spinach, coriander, and okra being planted.

Not only has the gardening been keeping everyone busy, but between 12 and 16 March the farm became the host for a project in collaboration with the Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA). Each day focused on a different activity to do with food, farming, and art. Participants got to try their hands at printmaking with natural materials, learn how to prepare chilies and cheese to make ‘Ema Datshi’, the national curry of Bhutan, and bake sourdough. Many people enjoyed a tour of the farm with its many plots of different vegetables and learn about composting. The final day saw a big cook up of food from various groups, yum!
