Sharing skills is one of the cornerstones of community.
The past few weeks Parklands Albury Wodonga have been undertaking a project to remove black willows from along the Lower Kiewa River. Part of this project which we have covered previously has been to map out the locations of black willow. This project, however, has also presented another opportunity.
Duduroa Dhargal Aboriginal Corporation have been managing Ryans Lagoon with the auspice of Parklands Albury Wodonga providing any logistical support required.
Expressing a desire to learn more about the Kiewa River and gain experience in mapping, Beau Murray from DDAC has been helping map along the river with Mick Mowat from Parklands Albury Wodonga. The black willow project has allowed for the transfer of mapping skills and the opportunity to learn more about the Kiewa River while making the task of mapping the willows a much more surmountable one. For that, thank you from us here at Parklands Albury Wodonga.
