The recent rebuild of the Ecoportal platform is an exciting development for local groups, organisations and businesses seeking to take action on local environmental renewal.
Ecoportal, Albury-Wodonga’s collaborative, community devised, volunteer run website is unique in providing a place to share nature-based events and activities, showcase local sustainability-focused groups and organisations, and provide a library of Living Lightly articles written by local authors.
Connecting people with nature and nature networks, enhancing the cross-fertilisation of ideas and streamlining event scheduling, Ecoportal has been the ‘go-to’ local site now for more than a decade. The site has over 100 groups listed, more than 150 contributor account holders and 400 direct email subscribers who receive regular updates of event listings and news.
The new, updated version is timely and includes new calendar features and enhanced usability for both contributors and viewers.
As a regular site user, Parklands Albury Wodonga is grateful for the opportunity Ecoportal provides to promote our events and to support the 80+ partners with whom we work each year delivering biodiversity conservation and park projects.
Parklands has been pleased to support the 2023 Ecoportal rebuild. We gratefully acknowledge the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal for funding that enabled the rebuild and redesign, and Ecoportal master Karen Retra for her endless dedication to the site. We are committed to a partnership culture, and the Ecoportal website is a great example of this; driven by community, created collaboratively and providing an invaluable tool that connects people and partners.
