This month Parklands staff have focused on completing the new fencing that will protect a 4.5km corridor of Lake Hume frontage. Once planted out with native seedlings, the new new corridor will form a biodiversity link which has been missing from this particular landscape for many years.

Fencing is almost done and Parklands are calling for volunteers to help with the planting task in the coming months. We have 9000 seedlings on order for winter planting and we know from experience that many hands can make light work of this.

This particular task is not without it’s challenges for planters though.  The location is a 45 minute drive each way from Albury Wodonga to Bethanga, slopes to be planted are steep and site access will be difficult after rain.

If you feel up to the challenge, all hands are most welcome. We will start and finish our planting days from Wodonga (Bunnings carpark) at 8am, travelling in Parklands vehicles to the site and back by 3pm.
