Parklands Rangers and volunteers made the most of the clear skies to chat in the sun over a BBQ lunch following our ‘3rd Tuesday’ working bee in October.
For two hours each month on the 3rd Tuesday, volunteers have been getting a variety of tasks underway at the old Leneva School and Leneva Hall sites to help restore the 10ha Box-gum grassy woodlands remnant and reinstate educational nature trails. This has involved putting up and monitoring nesting boxes, cut-and-paint treatment of woody weeds, fixing fences, tidying up and removing rubbish, hand removal of an infestation of Watsonia weed and many other odd jobs.
With only two dates to go for 2022, volunteers are still welcome to sign up for a taster, help get some outdoor jobs done at the Leneva Enviro Hub and join Parklands staff for a social lunch. See how you can get involved here.
