This extremely wet season is taking a toll on mature trees, with falling trees causing road blockages throughout the region. The High Country Rail Trail has also been affected, with a huge gum falling to block the trail near Finn’s creek this week.
Being a self-sufficient crew, the High Country Rail Trail’s volunteer Bonegilla Advisory Group called in all hands and got to work, skilfully dealing with branch after branch, clearing the trail and making the area safe.
The result; trail cleared in short order, a job well done and a fantastic example of community people power in action!
