The High Country Rail Trail is regularly used for a range of fundraising activities – walking being the most popular. Taking up a walk challenge is a win-win, with physical health benefits of walking and the mental health benefits of both helping to support those who are doing it tough, and experiencing nature in the magnificent landscapes of the High Country.
Stuart Spratt, part-owner of the Legends on Hansen café in Corryong, recently took on the four day, 120km challenge of walking the rail trail to Corryong. Stuart said he wanted to carry on the tradition of support for Soldier On, established by a previous proprietor, Kim Winter. Kudos to you from Parklands, Stuart!
Kudos too to the team of Albury walkers who recently arrived at the Corryong Visitor Information Centre, en route to Kosciusko. Ukrainian-born Albury man Andriy Holumbiyevskyy and two friends started their walk at Bonegilla and are fundraising to ease the pain by helping rebuild the shattered Ukraine community.
