Parklands Albury Wodonga welcomes the partnerships bringing new life to the old Leneva school site on Beechworth Rd.
We are pleased to be working with the Leneva Landcare Group, Leneva Hall Committee, Wodonga Senior Secondary College and the Federation of Wodonga Government Schools to enhance this 10 hectare remnant Box Gum Grassy woodlands site and improve environmental education opportunities.
Home to a substantial framework of mature Box and gum trees interspersed with remnant outdoor and environmental education infrastructure, the site has great potential as an environmental hub. Since moving our depot to the ‘bottom of the garden’ earlier this year, Parklands have installed new bird boxes, glider boxes and phascogale boxes, reinstated water to the site, and started tackling the weeds and planning for a future environmental education hub.
This winter we welcome assistance to tackle the invasive Bridal Creeper, Watsonia bulbs and other woody weeds that are spreading vigorously with the ongoing wet seasons. All are welcome to help us plan and ‘do’ on the third Tuesday of the month at Leneva.
