The Waterworks Regional Park is lately receiving the recognition due to this beautiful natural public park, with several pieces of good news in recent weeks.
Parklands Albury Wodonga thank the many volunteers, park users and neighbours who regularly pick up rubbish at this popular swimming and canoe launch area. We appreciate the passion that so many Albury Wodonga residents have for this patch of paradise, particularly during the heatwaves.
Your efforts will now be supported by regular bin collections. A big Thank You to the City of Wodonga who recently installed new wheelie bins at Waterworks Regional Park, and will be undertaking regular bin collections.
Thank you also to the Rotary Club of Albury Foundation who have, in response to the growing patronage of this natural area, kindly contributed towards wages for disability employees from Murray Valley Centre to work in the park. For the next three years, the team will undertake regular works at Waterworks Regional Park in the busy summer months to value add to the basic mowing and spraying that Parklands provide.
Parklands is keen to establish a River Stewards Group to help guide plans and future works for our shared custodianship of this regional park. Whether you are passionate about monitoring for platypus, turtles and gliders, want to improve the general amenity or assist with the proposed canoe launching area, please register your interest with us.
