A stunning location on the Kiewa river and glorious sunshine greeted our first community planting volunteers this morning.
With a week of wet, wintry weather behind us, conditions could not have been better for getting native plants into the ground and off to a great start.
This year we are planting a variety of trees and understorey plants into the river corridors, to increase the quality and extent of native vegetation and improve the habitat value for native species.
Thanks to our three keen planters who signed on for the two-hour session this morning, we now have more than 120 plants in the ground and guarded. As usual where there is risk of flooding, we are using cardboard guards rather than plastic.
If you would like to join one of our planting mornings over the next few weeks, please find dates, details and registration on our Eventbrite listing here.
