This week we were excited to hear from the Commonwealth Bank that our submission to the Bushfire Recovery fund has been successful.
The program supports community organisations to implement activities to strengthen social connectedness and emotional wellbeing and assist communities to recover from the recent bushfires.
Parklands will use the $50,000 grant to develop storytelling and signage in the regional bush parks we manage. This will include interpretation and wayfinding signs incorporating Aboriginal art across the regional parks.
During the Covid19 pandemic patronage of regional parks has increased exponentially, and our aim with this project is to improve people’s mental health and wellbeing by creating a sense of place through storytelling.
Trackhead and wayfinding signage for Baranduda Nature Trails will be a high priority in response to community feedback.
