Like all of the local Friends and Landcare groups, we’ve had to cancel all of our volunteering activities since the COVID lockdown started.
Also because of the lockdown, the local tracks and trails are getting more use than ever, and we have received many appreciative comments on the work we do to create access to, interpret, promote and maintain the trails in the regional parklands. Of course Parklands Rangers love the feedback, but we know it belongs equally to our volunteers. It clearly shows how important the work our volunteers do is to the mental and physical wellbeing of our community.
Losing our volunteers has made us super-aware of how hard it is for a few Rangers alone to keep the wheels turning. We miss you, and we know you also miss being able to get out into the local parks and get things done.
We’d love to hear from you about just what it is that you miss, and what you’re looking forward to getting back to when this is all over.
Please, send us a few words via email or Facebook. We’d love to hear from you!
