The installation of new high-tech nestboxes for threatened species will soon enable 24hr monitoring and data collection of squirrel gliders in the West Hume Landcare area.
The boxes are purpose built for arboreal mammals, to a plan developed collaboratively between Thurgoona Mens Shed and Landcare associates. They each include a mobile connected, solar powered motion sensing camera, which sends data instantly to monitors.
Parklands is pleased to partner with Murray Local Land Services to install the latest in nestbox monitoring technology, enabling accurate data collection on activity and occupancy of the boxes. These cameras will collect data never before seen on the glider population in the Squirrel Glider LAMP project area around Burrumbuttock.
