Parklands rangers were proud to attend the presentation of Queen’s Scout Awards to three local Venturer Scouts last week in a special ceremony in Wodonga.
Tristan Hedditch, Sheldon Smith and Adam Peters, Venturers from 3rd Wodonga and 1st Baranduda Scout groups were thrilled to receive the awards, which recognise their work for the community.
To receive this award, each young participants completed 300 hours of service, earned 17 badges and documented their contribution in the areas of community service, leadership and personal development. It takes a special committment for young Venturers to complete all of the necessary tasks involved, and it is certainly a rare day when three Queen’s Scout Awards are presented once.
All three contributed some of their community service working with Parklands rangers in bush restoration projects, and we were very pleased to have their willing hands on the job. Sheldon Smith in particular is well known here at Parklands, and undertook an important Fire Awareness project in West Wodonga with us last year.
Congratulations to three such dedicated young community members.
