Restoration of the Dry Forest Creek trestle bridge on the High Country Rail trail reached a major milestone this week with three of the nine spans completed.
Volunteers and Parklands Rangers have come together regularly to undertake the intricate yet large scale work of sourcing, milling and replacing the bridge timbers. There is extraordinary satisfaction involved in achieving each task and seeing the bridge gradually restored.
Many thanks to Bob West of Bonegilla who has donated fallen timber for the bridge pylons and Bruce Campbell for the ongoing use of their Lucas mill to shape the massive timbers.
