A stylish alfresco afternoon tea and chat topped off Member for Indi Cathy McGowan’s day last Tuesday.
Ms McGowan was treated to a tour of the great work undertaken by the Parklands Green Army team clearing woody weeds and planting understorey at Gordon Craig Park on Felltimber Creek.
The Friends of Felltimber Creek laid on afternoon tea, with Kim Radnell’s famous Milo cake the first to disappear as Ms McGowan, the Green Army team, Parklands rangers and representatives from the Wodonga Urban Landcare Network completed a planting afternoon at the park.
Cathy McGowan was ‘pleased and proud’ to have had the opportunity to meet the team, who share a passion for the environment and are working hard to forge careers in the field. The team is known here at Parklands as the Green Army ‘Team of Greatness’, having mastered a diverse range of skills such as fencing off new green corridors, planting seedlings, concreting boardwalks and park benches and clearing weeds from urban creeks and parks.
